What the Drouin Great Collections Include

The Drouin Great Collections combine several complementary genealogy databases and historical resources. They allow you to search marriage indexes, consult birth, marriage, and death records, and explore family files covering Quebec, Acadia, and French North America.

La Masculine and La Féminine

La Masculine is an alphabetical marriage index covering French Canadian families from 1760 to 1935, organized by the husband's surname. La Féminine covers the same marriages but indexes them by the wife's maiden name. Together, these two collections provide complementary ways to locate historical marriage records.

The Histor File and Acadian Files

The Histor File contains marriage record cards that include information such as the origin of the spouses and references to marriage contracts. It covers Catholic and Protestant marriages celebrated in Quebec between 1730 and 1825, as well as marriages performed in French western forts and Acadian communities.

The Acadian Files include more than 50,000 birth, marriage, and death record cards documenting Acadian families and their genealogy.
