Elwin Dale (Ted) LaFountain, age 79, passed away peacefully in Calgary on Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was born on February 13, 1939, in Glentworth, Saskatchewan to Lloyd and Thelma (Linnell) LaFountain. Ted enjoyed lengthy careers at the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Pacific Railway, specialising in communications. In his leisure time, he excelled at the sport of curling and enjoyed his time on the golf course; he spent time with friends playing Cribbage and Scrabble. Ted is survived by Norma, his loving wife of 50 years; children Warren (Carrie), Wendy (Greg) and Melanie (Lorin); six grandchildren: Alex, Bennett, Kennedy, Teagan, Levi and Craig; and his sisters Lynne (Leonard), Pam (Bruce) and Mina (Leonard). Ted was predeceased by his parents and his older brother Ronald (June). A Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 - 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. We would like to thank all the tireless caregivers, doctors, and nurses at the Colonel Belcher for all their care.
