Troy Ballard Black of Calgary, AB passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest at the Puerto Vallarta Medical Center in Mexico on February 17, 2018 at the age of 34 years. He married his best friend Lindsay five years ago in August and they enjoyed traveling and spending time together in work, in play and in life. Troy always wished to make a difference in the world. Although Troy lost his battle, he would have taken solace in knowing that the blood donations made in his name will save many other lives. To honour Troy's memory, we ask that you please make a donation to your local blood bank. Troy is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Lindsay (fur-babies Tucker, Lacey, Napa and Trina); his mother Patricia Nelson; Aunt and Uncle Barbara and Bill Boyd; Cousins John Boyd (Michelle), Karen Irving (Todd, Kate and Tyler); as well as Donna and Brooke Barnes, and Phil Nelson. He will also be missed greatly by his in-laws Susan and Grayson Schalin; and his loving GG Malinda Dyck as well as extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his Maternal Grandparents, Grace and Ray Ballard. Troy lived by his Grandad's motto To Thine Own Self Be True.
