Lockwood, Lois Anne (nee Miller) December 1, 1956 - March 18, 2018 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lois Lockwood on March 18, 2018 at the age of 61 years. Lois was born in Hamilton, ON and grew up in what was then the town of Stoney Creek. She graduated from Hillfield Strathallan College, The University of Western Ontario and earned her Master of Communications Studies from the University of Calgary. Moving to Calgary in 1979, she commenced an impressive career that encompassed marketing, advertising, communications and strategic planning, which firmly established her as an industry leader. Lois was an instructor in the Master's program at U of C for over ten years and in 2014 was honoured by Chatelaine/Profit Magazine as one of the top 100 female entrepreneurs in the country. She served on the boards of the Calgary Convention Centre Authority and Children's Cottage Society. Lois will be fondly remembered by family and friends for her joy of life and her loving and generous ways. She loved to laugh and we will all miss her wonderful sense of humour. Predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Jim Miller, Lois was the devoted and proud mother of daughter Lindsay. She is survived by her brothers, Bob (Rosemary) and Paul (Carole) Miller; nephew Dan Miller (Kate); nieces, Leigh Miller (Mark Firmin), Paula Scott (Zach), Meredith Miller and Sheri Miller (Keith Traquair). Lois was also a great-aunt to Evan Miller, Ben Miller and Elliot Traquair. A lifelong animal lover, she will be greatly missed by her dogs, Teddy and Tessa. A Memorial Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S. W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will follow at the Glencoe Club (636 29 Ave SW, Calgary, AB) in the Main Ballroom at 2:30 p.m. An interment will be held at a later date in Stoney Creek, ON.
