Perry, Chester Alan (Chet) - April 22, 1944 - High Prairie, Alberta January 11, 2018 - Calgary, Alberta Chester Alan Perry (Chet), died in the early hours of Thursday January, 11 aged seventy-three, after a year-long fight with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his bride, of fifty-two years, Carol; his daughters Audrey (& Sean) and Tara (& Jeremy); his four grand children Nathan, Daniel, Samantha, and Logan; brothers Ronald, George, and Patrick. Chet was born 22nd April 1944, in High Prairie, Alberta, the second son of Raleigh Perry and Ardith Perry (nee Greer), and step-son to Helen Perry (nee Tierney). Chet began his career in the telecom industry right out of high school, working for the telephone company, AGT. In 1972, he returned to school and received an Engineering degree from the University of Alberta. His drive to be his own boss resulted in a move to Calgary in 1979 and the creation of his own company, that then became Pathcom Wireless, which he ran successfully for thirty-five years before selling it and retiring in 2014. He relocated to the Cochrane area in 1988, and soon moved his business becoming the town's first wireless internet provider. He was well known for his personal commitment to his customers. He will be remembered for his fierce devotion to his entire family, his generosity, and his terrible jokes. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Saturday January, 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at Cumbrian Arms (57 W Aarsby Road, Cochrane, AB) at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
