Hamdon, Patricia (nee Shibley) December 11, 1933 December 28, 2018 On December 28, 2018, Mrs. Patricia Hamdon of Edmonton, formerly of Calgary and born in Radville, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Mo, six children: Karen (Scot Morison), Marlene, Diana, Tysir (Jim Fraser), Dean (Carleen) and Brenda (John Dushinski); 13 adoring grandchildren and two beautiful great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary Shibley. Mom's greatest love and legacy is her family. With time and devotion, she developed a relationship with each of her children and grandchildren. Her generous spirit and open heart provided the warm welcome that friends and family were certain to receive when they visited her home. Together, Mom and Dad enjoyed forty years of winters in Scottsdale, Arizona. Among Mom's other favourite memories were her many winters skiing in the Rocky Mountains. We are grateful to the numerous caregivers who supported us with Mom's care at home. Special thanks to Dr. Daniella Farrah (Pam), Dr. Mark Armstrong, Yvette and Raquel. Honouring our mom's wishes, there will be no formal funeral. Instead, the family will gather for private prayers. In memory of Mom, donations may be made directly to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 17312 107 Avenue Edmonton, AB, T5S 1E9; or to a charity of one's choice. Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. By Mary Elizabeth Frye, memories and condolences may be shared through Published on December 31, 2018 in The Edmonton Journal, AB
