Schuhart, Frederick (Fred) October 23, 1948 - March 2, 2019 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Fred passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 70, with his wife of 36 years, Kathy, by his side. He is survived and deeply loved by his two sons, Kelly Maley (Melanie) and Shane Schuhart; his two daughters, Tammy-Lee Marsten (Denis) and Nicole Perkin (Adam); and three grandchildren, Grayson, Lincoln and Tavia. He is also survived and loved by his sister, Lila McClelland and many nieces and nephews. Fred worked at Coast Mountain Bus from April 1975 to December 2015 and was known for his easy-going nature and friendly smile and disposition. In his retirement years, he loved puttering around his home, taking care of his wife, hanging out with his grandkids and living life to the fullest, happy with the simplest of pleasures. He was the guy who would talk to anyone without any judgment, his dry sense of humour making an impact on all who met him. A kind and generous soul, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered in our hearts - he was one in a million. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 23rd from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Fraserview Village Community Hall, 22610 - 116 Avenue, Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers, there will be a donation box towards buying a memorial bench for Fred. Published on March 6, 2019 in The Vancouver Sun and or The Province, BC
