Dad was born March 3, 1931 and lived his early life in Tyndall and Ladywood. He was a very hard worker and jack of all trades. He started working on the family farm as a young boy and went to cut pulp at the bush camp when he was 15. Later he delivered fuel oil for Marshalls and milk for Lakeland Dairies all while he was farming the Sandhills. In 1967, Dad accepted a position at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre and later opened Saluk's Small Engine Repair. In 1954, Dad married Mom and together they raised us in loving homes in Selkirk and East Selkirk. He enjoyed his years farming, hunting, gardening and yardworking. In retirement, he took pleasure in woodworking and restoring antique tractors. Dad was a very strong, determined and compassionate man. Gigi was proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed their special events. Our family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre and home care for their dedication and compassionate care. Respecting Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk with Fr.
