John Alden MacDonald John A. MacDonald, 87, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, March 4, 2018. Born in Albany, PEI, he was the son of the late Roy and Florence (Bell) MacDonald. John was a retired truck driver with Steinberg's in Ontario with over 30 years' service. An avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, he loved watching sports and trivia game shows on TV. He also enjoyed Country & Western and Gospel music, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards. John will be sadly missed by his wife, Mae (MacLure) MacDonald; daughters, Kathy Gordon (John) of Ontario and Carla Walsh (Lennie) of Moncton; son, Trevor MacDonald (Anne) of Ontario; grandchildren, Maelisa, Cayla, Kelly, Kevin and Shannon; one great grandchild, Dawson; sisters, Blanche Jewell (late Davis), Jennie Mayhew (late Earl), Dot Jewell (late Fred), Ethel MacDonald, Wanda Lord and Dianne Stewart (Garnet); sister-in-law, Barb MacDonald; brothers-in-law, John MacLure (Frances) and Chester McLure (late Maureen); as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Preston (Cora), Garnet (Jean), Hollis (Lorraine), Lloyd (Marion) and Carl MacDonald and sister, Verna McKenna (Victor). A private family service to celebrate and honour John's life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995). In memory of John, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
