J. Allison Toner 1935-2018 Au Pine Grove Nursing Home de Fredericton, le samedi 10 mars 2018, à l'âge de 82 ans, est décédé J. Allison Toner, époux de feu Patricia Charette, domicilié autrefois à Grand-Sault. Né à Grand-Sault en 1935, il était fils de feu Ambrose Toner et de feu Eileen Mahoney. Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, Jeffrey (Kathy Winslow), Patrick (Avril Wood), Charles, Eileen (Ben Basu), Jane (Dave Grebenc) et Michael (Rose Durocher), petits-enfants, Zoë, Jacqueline, Andrew, Sta cey, Sean, Emily, Olivia, Daniel, Nicole et Zachary. Allison laisse également son frère et ses soeurs, Monica (feu Robert Washburn), père Michael Toner CSC, Katharine (Ronald Bourque), Joan (Henry Cowan), Sheila (Kelly McCarthy) et Beatrice (Rino Long) ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces. La dépouille mortelle de M. Allison Toner sera exposée au Salon Guy O'Regan, 515, boul. Evérard-Daigle à Grand-Sault à compter de jeudi. Les heures de visites seront le jeudi 15 mars de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et le vendredi 16 mars de 9h30 à 11h. Ses funérailles auront lieu le vendredi 16 mars à 11h en l'église de l'Assomption de Grand-Sault avec inhumation au cimetière paroissial. Allison Toner 1935-2018 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Allison Toner at Pine Grove Nursing Home in Fredericton, on March 10, 2018 at the age of 82. Born in Grand Falls in 1935, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Eileen (Mahoney) Toner. Pre-deceased by his wife Patricia Charette (2012), he is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Kathy Winslow), Patrick (Avril Wood), Charles, Eileen (Ben Basu), Jane (Dave Grebenc), and Michael (Rose Durocher) and grandchildren Zo ë, Jacqueline, Andrew, Stacey, Sean, Emily, Olivia, Daniel, Nicole and Zachary. Allison is also survived by his brother and sisters, Monica (late Robert Washburn), Fr. Michael Toner CSC, Katharine (Ronald Bourque), Joan (Henry Cowan), Sheila (Kelly McCarthy), and Beatrice (Rino Long) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Allison was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council 2331 and 4th degree Assembly 0621. He was also a member of the Grand Falls Golden Age Club. Allison completed his final year of high school in Halifax and continued his studies at St. Mary's University graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He returned to Grand Falls to take over the family farm. He married Patricia Charette in the summer of 1960 and together they raised six children. Allison sat on a variety of boards supporting both potatoes and grain and, along with Patricia was an active member of the National Farmers Union. He was a director of the Canadian Seed Growers Association (1985-1992) and Seeds Canada (1983-1995) as well as a partner in T & M Grains and Toner Seeds Ltd. After he finished farming, he managed the Florenceville Grain Terminal, transported fertilizer for Grand Falls Agromart and completed his career driving a tractor-trailer for Keltic Transport Ltd. of Moncton. Al and Pat loved to entertain and hosted many international agricultural trade delegations on the farm and especially enjoyed having family and friends over for a BBQ and swim in the summer. Resting at O'Regans Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours: Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm; and Friday, March 16, 2018 from 9:30 - 11:00 am. Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls. Interment to follow in the spring.
