Eva Marilyn Sparkes February 19, 1938 - April 30, 2019 St. John's, NL - On Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the age of 81, Eva Sparkes, dedicated and loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away in her home surrounded by her family, following a long struggle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Heaven has received its newest angel. Her dedicated sister, and angel on earth, Dora, saw to Eva's every need in her final months. Born February 19 1938, in Corner Brook, NL, to Albert and Elizabeth Hounsell, Eva graduated with a RN from the General Hospital in 1959 and worked as an Or Nurse caring for others, which she carried with her through her life. In 1961, she married Rendell Sparkes of St. John's, NL and together they had 3 children. Eva was an integral part of St. Mark's Anglican Parish, serving as President of the Altar Guild, member of the ACW, and was involved in many fund raisers for the Church. Eva was also a long time supporter to many worthwhile charities, including the Anglican Church and Cancer Research. Eva is survived by her 3 sons; Darrell and wife Karen with daughter Kerri; Roger and wife Anna with Kevin (Rogers-Sparkes) and daughter Amy; Randy and spouse Michelle with son Greysen (Fitzpatrick-Sparkes); Eva is also survived by her sister Dora with husband Harry Cooze. Eva was pre-deceased by her parents; brother Raymond (1995); sister Margaret (2006); and husband Rendell (1995). Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue with visitations on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5pm-9pm and Friday, May 3 from 10am-12pm. Funeral service to follow at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Logy Bat Road at 2pm. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
