Cape Breton Post, NS, 2019-06-05 --- Anne Pitts It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Elizabeth Pitts, age 90, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney. Born July 23, 1928, in Sydney, NS, Anne was the daughter of the late Jack and Rose MacDonald. Anne is survived by her sister, Rita; four children, Eileen Ross, Billy, Greg and Margaret Lesnick (Kim); five grandchildren, Joanne Pitts (Mark), Adam Jackson (April), Nicole Jackson (Dwayne), Melissa Keating (Mark) and Steven Ross (Catherine); and five great-grandchildren, Ben, Myah, Arthur, Ella and Grayson. Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her husband, William; brothers, Miles and Eddie; daughter, Anne Marie; son, Kenny; son in infancy, William; and daughter-in-law, Sharon. Mom was the bright light in our family. She found happiness in everything and brought lightheartedness to any situation, she loved to laugh and have lots of fun. When she wasn't playing cards, listening to Rita MacNeil or watching the Golden Girls, you could find her with her family - her true pride and joy. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids - teaching them how to play cards, cooking interesting concoctions for them, telling silly stories (which usually ended up with her giggling through most of it), and of course, taking LOTS of pictures 'to save the memories'. Mom also loved spending time with her second family, her best friends - 'The Girls'. Between road trips, dances, card games, and lots of laughs, these girls were a huge, and important part of Mom's life. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 2:30 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel, with Father Patrick O'Neill, officiating. Donations may be made to Palliative Care or a charity of one's choice. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca Cape Breton Post, NS, 2019-06-06
