Eleanor Irene (Brown) Shunamon 1951-2019 It is with great sadness, that the family of Eleanor Irene Shunamon (Brown), age 67, of Beaverbank, announces her passing on May 1, 2019. Born on October 8, 1951 in Clementsport, she was the eldest child of the late Peter and Ann (Potter) Brown. Eleanor was an avid reader and was well-versed in many topics. She loved to travel and impromptu road trips were met with great excitement. She was an excellent crafter who dabbled in a variety of crafting, trying her hand at almost everything, but enjoyed crochet and embroidery the most. She was well known for her delegation abilities during 'pickling season' every late summer, much to the chagrin of her daughters and daughter-in-law. She possessed a sharp mind and with and had a wonderful sense of humor. Eleanor was an avid customer of the Beacon House Thrift Store and took great delight in finding 'treasures' and took even great pleasure in showing them proudly to her family. Eleanor was an employee of Scotia Nursing Homes Ltd. In Beaverbank, as a Resident Care Worker, for nearly 30 years, until her retirement in 2015. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents and her only brother, Michael. She is survived by her husband, Michael, of 50 years and their children, Ricky (Jennifer), Centreville; Lisa (Alex) LeDrew, Orangedale; Anita (Andrew) Shunamon, Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Carrie, Ashton, Graham, Anne, Abigail and Theresa; great grandchildren, River and Reid; sister-in-law, Cheryl Brown and two sisters. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held between 2-4 p.m. In Centreville Community Hall on May 10, located at 1951 Hwy. 359, Centreville. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Beacon House Food Bank and Thrift Store in her memory. White Family Funeral Home, NS, 2019-05-07
