Rojào, Alberto de Almeida - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Alberto de Almeida Rojão announce his passing in Kingston, on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his home following a long battle with lung cancer. Albert was the beloved husband of Maria (nee Nunes) of 47 years, cherished father of Lucy Rojão, respected father-in-law to Leonardo Greco and adored by his grandson Costello. Albert is survived by his sister, Maria Elvira Melo of Carcavelos, Portugal, his numerous brothers-and sisters-in-law and will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. He fell in love with the lathe at age 9 and continued to practice machinery until a few months prior to his death. Albert immigrated to Toronto in 1956 and later settled in Bath before making Kingston his permanent home. Albert was the definition of indomitable spirit and maintained his dignity and strength throughout his life. He is greatly missed, and will always be loved, remembered and honoured.
