Born and raised in Toronto, where she attended Havergal College, she was the wife of the late William Lizars Davidson (1983). Survived by daughter, Suzanne Davidson Carter of Greenville, South Carolina; son, Stuart William Davidson (Melissa); and much loved grandchildren, Sophia and Cameron Davidson of North Bay, Ontario. Also survived by sister, Joan Scott (late Harry); and brother, Humphrey Gilbert (R-J), both of Toronto. Predeceased by brother, Philip Gilbert (Wendy), also of Toronto. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and cousins. Married life took her to Chicago; Mountainside, New Jersey; Churchville, Pennsylvania; and Waseca, Minnesota; after which she and Bill retired to Goderich. She was ardent about bridge, both as a player and a teacher. She also spent much time in the kitchen making preserves (jams, jellies, marmalade, and marvelous pickles) for most appreciative relatives and friends. Her abiding lifelong passion was baseball, starting with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the old International League and enhanced by the arrival of the Blue Jays into the Major Leagues in 1977. She hardly ever missed a game on TV! Cremation has taken place. In memory of Daphne, a donation to a children's charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The Globe and Mail, 2018-03-23
