Howie, Angela Mary (McDowell) (De Decker) - Of Port Stanley, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018, at the age of 75 years. Beloved wife of James Howie and the late Roger De Decker (1994). Dearly loved mother of Joseph (Emily), Paul (Jeannie), Mary Gomes (Roger), Elizabeth Hygninus (Cam). Dear sister of Doris Spriet (John) and the late James McDowell. Lovingly remembered by her 19 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews. Angela was born in Walsingham on April 5th, 1943, daughter of the late James and Mary (Picard) McDowell. She was a member of Holy Angels' Catholic Church and was recognized by the Catholic Women's League for over 25 years of service. Angela was a member of the Discalced Carmelites. She was also a member of the Port Stanley Optimist Club and a Past Distinguished Lieutenant Governor of the Optimist Club. Angela was recognized for being involved with Diabetes Research and fund raising for over 62 years. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas where visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1st from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels' Church on Friday, November 2nd at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow. Interment to be held in Tillsonburg Cemetery on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Angels' Restoration Fund, to the Juvenile Diabetes Research (London Chapter) or to SWONT Conductive Education Program.
