Born on July 9, 1937 on the 9th Concession of North Walsingham, son of the late Doug McKillen and the late former Millie Terry. Jim was a lifelong resident of the Langton area. Dear husband of 55 years of the late Yvonne (Bonnie) (Haskett) McKillen (December 27, 2012). Loving father of five children: Ralph (Sandra) McKillen of Langton; Scott (Carol) McKillen of RR 3 Delhi; Carrie (Don) Holbrook of Langton; Doug (Susan) McKillen of RR 2 Tillsonburg; and Tammy McKillen (Darrell Hazen) of Langton. Predeceased by brothers Ralph and Don, and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Jim was a very active and loved member of the Langton Community, helping others as much as possible. Many people called him the Mayor of Langton. Jim was a Langton Fire Fighter for 42 1/2 years. He was so dedicated to the Fire Department that, when he retired, his family bought the fire station's retired tanker, pumper and rescue van. James enjoyed driving his fire truck through many parades in all the towns in the area. Jim held a variety of jobs over his lifetime, and many will remember him from the 24 years he worked in the Langton Clover Farm (Foodland), or from his years driving truck for Money's Transport Langton. He also held a second job helping Verhoeve Funeral Home and Verhoeve Ambulance Service, Langton. Friends, neighbours, and relatives will be received by the McKillen family on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm at the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes-Burial and Cremation Services Inc. 40 Queen Street, Langton. Firefighters Walkthrough on Friday at 7 pm.
