Aurelia (Doliner) Petras, who passed away on March 5, 2018 at age 96 at St Gabriel's Villa, where she had been a resident for the past six years. Born in Villach Austria on July 19, 1921, she trained as a nurse in Salzburg. She had become head nurse, when they decided to move to Canada in 1954 seeking better opportunities for their family. Aurelia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and dedicated her life to her family. She loved to knit, do needlepoint and tend her lovely garden. The many happy years at their camp on Madawanson Lake near Massey, and the special celebration of Christmas Eve in the Austrian tradition are remembered fondly by her children and grandchildren. She will be missed more than words can say. Aurelia was a deeply spiritual person and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle parish CWL. She generously supported several charities throughout her life. Aurelia is predeceased by husband Herbert (2009), and infant son Norman (1957) and is survived by their three children Herb (Lori), Ingrid (Charlie) and Wilfred (Linda), eight grandsons, Darren (Lesley), Mark (Jane), Raymond (Sheila), Robbie, Gord, Norman, Steven (Karen), Alex (Joann) and 11 great grandchildren Alissa, Brooks, Carter, Chloe, Natalie, Jack, William, Callum, Wyatt, Aiden, Finley. Heartfelt thanks for the excellent care given to our mother by the dedicated and caring staff of Whitson neighbourhood at St. Gabriel's Villa. At Aurelia's request there will be a private family celebration of her life. The Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
