Doris P. Clow of Stoneham, formerly of Prince Edward Island, Canada died peacefully at her home on June 2, 2019. She was the wife of the late Judson H. Clow Jr. and the long time companion of the late Clarence Sawyer Sr. Doris was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; daughter of the late George C. and Hazel (Docherty) Parker. Her family returned to their homeland of Prince Edward Island soon after she was born, and it was there that Doris spent her childhood. At the age of twenty, Doris returned to the States to live and work in Cambridge, MA. There, she met her future husband Judson while learning to square dance, an activity they both enjoyed for years to come. In 1959, Doris and her young family moved to Stoneham. Doris worked in quality control as a group leader at Electronic Internets in Stoneham and Transitron in Wakefield. Over the years, she had been very active in the community. She was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church; she volunteered in the Coffee Shop in Winchester Hospital; she served lunches at the Wakefield Senior Center and for ten years, she served with the Baptist Team at the Community Dinners in Stoneham. She was the loving mother of Barbara Allaire and her late husband Ronald of Rhode Island; stepmother of the late Charles Clow and his wife Shirley of Washington and grandmother of Bill Allaire and John Allaire of Rhode Island. She was the sister of John Parker and his wife Marian, Shirley Smith and her husband David all of Prince Edward Island and predeceased by three other sisters, Marion Francis of CT, Jean McPhale and Florence Dow of PEI. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home 4 Common St., Thursday, 1-2 p.m. followed by a prayer service. Burial will take place in the Peoples Community Cemetery, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Those desiring may make a memorial gift to the American Lung Association.
