MacKenzie, Florence (nee McMillan) It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. She passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at her home in Greenfield Park. She was a loving and devoted mother to Randy (Athanasia), Sharon (Garth), Scott, Donald and to her five grandchildren Alexandra, Christopher, Taylor, Mathew and Kyle. Florence will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening and reading. The family will receive condolences at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home (307 rue Riverside, Saint Lambert, Quebec, J4P 1A7) from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 followed by services and reception at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Published in Montreal Gazette on Mar. 22, 2018 --- Mrs. Florence MacKenzie (nee McMillan) September 19, 1930 - March 18, 2018 The amazing adventure ended for my mother Florence McMillan MacKenzie yesterday at age 87. She lived a full life and passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully. My siblings (Randy, Sharon, and Don) want you all to know how much she loved her family, friends and community and to rest assured that this is not a sad occasion (mom was part Irish). She was born in New York city, raised on a farm in eastern Ontario, moved to Montreal to work as an Executive Secretary at Bell Canada (met my father there) and in 1961 settled in Greenfield Park. Mom quickly became involved in a variety of activities such as teaching Sunday school at the United Church and helping lead the Blackfoot cub pack. She raised four children, then returned to the workforce and in her early 60s completed a 3-yr Social Work diploma at Concordia University. Mom will be remembered by many as a kind and gentle person who did her best to make others feel welcome. Visitation will take place at, Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, Dignity Memorial, 307 Riverside, Saint-Lambert QC J4P 1A7 www.dignitequebec.com on Saturday March 24 from 2-4PM followed by a brief service and a reception. Services will be live-streamed for those not able to attend (https://funeraweb. tv/diffusions/c0dfcd84-1554-47e7-b4c7-58f5da5c188c"lang=en (please contact family for password) Everyone is welcome to celebrate her life and we all thank you in advance for your kind thoughts and condolences.
