Sirke, Rudy (Rudiger) Ditmar With great sadness the family of Rudy Ditmar Sirke announces that he passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2018. Rudy loved his family unconditionally, and we will miss him deeply. Rudy was born in 1949 in Austria. He and his family immigrated to Stenen, Saskatchewan in 1950, settling in Regina a few years later. Rudy often reminisced about growing up in East End Regina where he attended St. Augustine and Balfour Collegiate. Rudy attended the University of Regina which is where he obtained his Bachelor of Administration. His business career started at Royal Trust, followed by City of Regina Development and Public Relations Department, Con-Force Structures, Clarica, Nascon Developments, Lehigh Inland Cement, and he ended his career in marketing with Saskatchewan Ready-Mixed Concrete Association. Rudy met the love of his life, Iris, in 1970. They married in 1972 and dad always said it was the best decision I ever made. Before they began their family, Rudy and Iris enjoyed many years travelling, socializing with friends and family, and as members of the Queen City Kinsmen Club. What Rudy loved most in life were his wife and children, Erik and Kara. Without hesitation he would do anything for us, and there are no words to express how much we will be forever grateful to have received his love. Rudy was passionate about music, especially Motown and R&B/soul. He enjoyed reading about history and political figures, and keeping up to date on current affairs. Rudy had a fervor for playing pool and developed into a formidable pool shark. Also, Dad always had a soft spot for cats. Rudy was predeceased by his parents Josef and Elizabeth; and sisters Whilemenia and Charlotte. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Iris; children Erik and Kara; sister Christa; nephew Ned (Juanita); great-nieces and nephew Keyara, Hailey and Tristen; nephew Jason; brothers-in-law Gerald (Imelda), Keith (Ruth) and Dennis; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. We will miss him terribly, but are thankful for the many wonderful memories. A Celebration of RUDY's life will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Rudy may be made to a charity of your choice. Family and friends are invited to sign the online obituary and tributes page at www.reginafuneralhome.ca. Published on December 31, 2018 in The Leader Post, Regina, SK
