I am trying to sort out a question about a Jacques Fournier, son of Guillaume Fournier and M. F. Hebert, supposedly born around 17 August 1680 in Montmagny.

I came across this act: url=https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/img/acte/25454

It says, I believe, that the names are illegible but I do see the name "Sarazin" in the margin and the mother's name of "Marie Blondeau".

The act is linked to Guillaume Fournier as the father though I don't see his name in the act.

Can anyone shed light?

Hi,

Jacques Fournier is mentioned as a child of Guillaume Fournier and M.F. Hebert born August 24th 1679 in Cyprien Tanguay's genealogical Dictionary. Tanguay read the act at the end of the 19th Century when the register was less deteriorated than it was when it was microfilmed, hence he could read more information than it is possible to read today. Anyway, this Jacques is not enumerated with this family in 1681, meaning he must have died soon after birth
