My Ancestor Thomas Morson died June 18th 1853 in Montreal -The Montreal Weekly Herald, 25th June 1853, page 3. Thomas Morson, age 84, at his residence of No 4 Place St Antoine, Montreal. Also Morning Chronicle June 30th 1853.

To date I have been unable to trace his burial. His wife Charlotte Morson was buried July 21st 1849 in St Georges Church, Montreal.
They did have family in Bytown (Ottawa) and also in Quebec.
Looking for any possible suggestions.

Mike Morson
Most of the small church cemeteries were dug up and reburied in common plot in one of two cemeteries - Cote-des-Neiges RC and Mount Royal for non-Catholics. You still should be able to find a record for it but not all of these are in Drouin or PRDH. Try Ancestry. I can try for you and post reply if I find it.

I took a quick look on Ancestry. I find Institut Drouin records there even if not in genealogiequebec or PRDH. I did not see burial yet but I may try a different approach by seeing if I can access the records for the church where you found his wife's burial. I found a will for him though. Did you know he had one? It is on Ancestry.

Thanks, I have a copy of the 1861 Administration from the UK.

Please note that Protestant baptisms and burials are not presently indexed on the PRDH and the Institut Drouin sites. Indexing them is on the "To do" list, though...
