William (Bill) Grant Tipper It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bill Tipper on June 4, 2019, at his home in Fernie, BC. Bill was loved and cherished by many friends and family who will miss him dearly: his mother Doris, his children, Angela Tipper (Jonathan) and Kelsey Tipper (Tyler), sisters, Brenda Tipper (Michael) and Diane Kepler (Les), along with many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his father, Robert (Bob) Tipper. He also leaves to mourn friends and family in Fernie, BC including Christine, Caroline and Eric. Bill was born June 7, 1954 in Edmonton, AB. He and his family eventually settled in Winnipeg, MB where he graduated from Windsor Park Collegiate in 1972. High school was where he first developed a love for photography and basketball - both of which he continued into his later years. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Civil Engineering and went on to a lifelong career with Transport Canada & Winnipeg Airports Authority. Bill met his first wife, Donna McTavish (nee Mandryk) in high school. They married and had Angela and Kelsey before they designed and built their home in La Salle, MB. After retiring, Bill moved to Fernie, BC where he designed and built his second home in the mountains. It was there that he really developed his photography skills, even starting his own small business (Peak Images) printing photos. Bill will be missed dearly by all those who were lucky enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Fernie Friends for Friends. I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. - Mark Twain As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on Jun 06, 2019
