Audrey May McCarthy April 15, 1957 - April 28, 2019 McCarthy, Audrey May - Passed away in the presence of her family on Sunday, April 28th at the Health Sciences Centre, age 62. Predeceased by her mother Esther, father James and her sister Sharon. Leaving to mourn with fond memories her husband Brendan, her son Richard Taylor (Alicia), her beloved grandsons Alexander & Ryan, sisters Beverly Heath (Randy) and Judy Hillier (Clyde), brothers Rick and Ron (Lori), as well as a large circle of family & friends and her two special companions Angel & Cheddar. Audrey was known for her cheerfulness and kindness, even in the face of illness. A loving mother and cherished wife, she took particular joy in being Nan to two boys who adored her as much as she did them. Audrey appreciated the kindness and care directed her way and would especially want to thank the many people in the medical community who have assisted her over the years, in particular Dr. Kuljit Grewal and the staff at the Ambulatory Treatment Clinic, and Dr. Joanne MacIntyre and Dr. Elizabeth Callahan, two physicians she could gladly call friends. Finally, to the nurses on 5 South B of the Health Sciences, words can't express what you meant to Audrey over her last days. She will have no problem recognizing angels because she was in the presence of so many of them over the past week. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday April 30th from 2-4 & 7-9, and on Wednesday May 1st from 2-4 & 7-9. A funeral service will take place from Barrett's Chapel on Thursday May 2nd at 10:00am with cremation to follow. Flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation may be made in her memory to the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
