Allan Thomas Munro Date de naissance: 12 décembre 1926 Date de décès: 1er juin 2019 With sad hearts we announce the passing of our father, Allan Thomas Munro, on June 1, 2019 at Harbourview Hospital, Sydney Mines at age 92. Born December 12, 1926 at the Grace Maternity Hospital, Halifax, he was the son of the late Dr. Jeptha Seth and Maie (MacPherson) Munro. Dad grew up in North Sydney, Cape Breton and attended Mount Allison University, NB, and then Dalhousie University, NS, where he received his Medical Degree. He was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge. Dad was a soft spoken, gentle man with a great sense of humour - he could tell you a good joke in Gaelic, one of five languages he knew. He loved spending time on the family property in Cape North. Dad enjoyed music, played the piano and guitar, and in his senior years he sang in the church choir in Sydney. He is survived by his wife, Suong (Ngoc); and his first wife, Helen (Cameron). He was a beloved Dad to Allan (Debbie Collins), Marina Harrott, Patricia, Rebecca (Lloyd) Clark; daughter-in-law, Rosanne Quesnel, and stepdaughters, Diem and Hieu (Ngoc). Sadly, he was predeceased by his youngest son, Ranald in 2013; his brothers, Ian, Ross Scott, Jeptha, Murdoch and sister, Anita (Alan) MacKenzie. He was a dear Grandpa to 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and uncle to many nieces and nephews. His children would like to thank the Nurses, Doctors, and staff of the Harbourview Veterans Wing for taking such good care of our Dad and for always being so nice when we visited or called to see how he was doing. In death, Dad will continue to help medical education and research; his remains will be donated to Dalhousie University Medical School. We will have a small family celebration of Dad's life in Ontario at a later date; in two to three years we will be in Nova Scotia to rest his ashes. If so desired, donations may be made to a charity in the health care field. Cape Breton Post, NS, 2019-06-06
