Alma Helen Weston November 10, 1933 - November 23, 2018 Alma Helen Weston (nee Voelpel) passed away peacefully in Fort QuAppelle, on Saturday November 24 at the age of 85. She was born November 10, 1933 in Wapella Saskatchewan, the youngest of three girls, to Mary Klatt and Karl Voelpel. Alma was practical and frugal, known for wasting nothing (a natural consequence of having resourceful parents in war-time years). Alma had a witty sense of humour and her close friends knew that get-togethers always included a generous amount of laughing. Alma was also well-known locally as an artist and sign-painter. Her walls (and those of her family) are colourful with Almas landscape, bird, and family drawings and paintings. A significant mural that she painted single-handedly can still be seen, just off Main Street in Lemberg, Sk. Alma will be missed by her husband, Donald Weston of Balcarres, Sk., her sister, Nora Wushke (and husband Willie Wushke) of Broadview, Sk., her two surviving children, Laurie Weston Bellman of Calgary, AB, and Colleen Weston (and husband Jason Fode) of Edmonton, AB, her grandchildren, Mitchell Weston of Christchurch, New Zealand, Taylor Weston, of Whistler, B. C., Scott Weston (and partner, Megdalena Fomienko), of Krakow, Poland, Heather Bellman (and partner Brett Willsie) of Victoria, B. C., Lindsey Bellman of Victoria B. C., Holly Bellman of Calgary, AB, and William Fode of Edmonton, AB, and her great-grandchildren, Sawyer Willsie of Victoria B. C. and Sophie Weston of Krakow, Poland. Alma was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Karl, her sister Anne Whitby, and her son Gary Weston. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30 at 2:00 pm, at Grace United Church in Lemberg, Sk., followed by interment at the Abernethy cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers gratefully accepted by the Grace United Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 294, Lemberg, SK., S0A 2B0, or Balcarres Integrated Care Centre, PO Box 340, Balcarres, Sk., S0G 0C0, 306-334-6260.
