I have just joined this site this evening. I am looking for any births deaths or Marriages for the LeBaron family who apparently lived and married and had children in Montreal and yet I keep getting No Data messages. His name is Rexford LeBaron and his mother was Elizabeth Bond and father Joseph Rexford LeBaron. He first married Marie Alphonsine Prevost in 1920. They had three children, Richard born 1920, Mabel born 1925 and Marie Berthe Olivette born 1929. At some point in between these birth dates he "married?" my Grandmother, Catherine Fraser from Scotland. They had two children, Anna born 1928 and Dorothy (my mother) born 1931. As you can see, there is some crossover in the two families' children's birth dates!!! I am trying to find out the circumstances that occurred here. Was he married to my grandmother legally? Rexford had converted to being a catholic to marry Marie and my grandmother Catherine was presbyterian.
Perhaps I am not using the site properly, but it comes up with no data on anybody that I know are part of these families. I have hit brick walls on many sites, Ancestry, MyHeritage, Findmypast, Yourfolks etc.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Hi,

When searching for marriages in the 20th century, your go-to collection should be this one:
https://www.genealogiequ...iages-et-deces-1926-1997

You should be able to find many marriages related to these families in that collection. Make sure to keep your searches vague so you don't accidently filter out records that you wouldve been interested in. For example, try searching for "LeBaron" as the husband surname, with no additional information, and see what you can find.

Mmm...If Mabel was born July 2nd 1925 and married Ernest John Dunlop, she seems to have been born in Ontario...As for your mother (Dorothy), her birth is registered in a register pertaining to people not affiliated with a religion...Do you know anything about the birth of Anna? About where Alphonsine died? Or where Rexton LeBaron died?

I answered your initial post before realising that you have already researched the case extensively. Normally, the 1926-1997 marriage data base would include a marriage between Rexford Lebaron and Catherine Fraser if there was one...In reality, the conflicting dates are with Anna (1928) and Berthe Olivette (1929). Have you found both biths/baptisms for them?
