About the Baker surname
The surname Baker is associated with an occupational formation. The surname probably corresponds to an old occupational name associated with the work of a baker. The surname may thus have become fixed from an occupation practiced by an ancestor or associated with that person's household. The occupation behind the surname does not necessarily mean that every family branch has a common origin.
