Genealogy Quebec terms of service

User licence restricted by the following rules :

The Drouin Institute (Institute) authorizes you to use the content of Genealogy Quebec for the sole purpose of doing genealogical research in a personal or professional (certified genealogist) context and only content relevant to your research can be downloaded.

Being a subscriber

When subscribed to Genealogy Quebec, it is the user’s responsibility to make sure that he is the sole user of his account.

Genealogy Quebec is free to modify the subscriptions and the fees that are associated with them at any time.

Genealogy Quebec usage

The subscription to the website gives the user access to a number of daily or weekly image views and downloads based on the subscription of his choosing. A daily image counter is in place to keep track of the amount of views that are left on the account. When the counter reaches its daily or weekly limit, the user still has access to the website but cannot view or download any more images among those that are limited to a daily or weekly count. The Obituary and Archives sections are unlimited; therefore the subscriber can view and download images without it counting on the daily/weekly limit. The subscriber must have an active subscription to use this section.

A Paypal or credit card subscription gives you access to the website as soon as the payment is accepted. When the payment is made by cheque, the subscription is validated when the cheque is cashed.

If a user wishes to cancel his subscription, he will be able to do so on the Unsubscribe page. Genealogy Quebec will follow up on the demand. Genealogy Quebec can also cancel a subscription if the user conditions are broken. In both cases, no refund, partial or total, will be made.

Data quality

Because of the size of the website, more than 45 million images and files, some mistakes may have occurred, even with all the corrections that have been made over the years. Corrections can be sent to the specified emails.

Modification of the terms of service

Genealogy Quebec reserves the right to modify the terms of service at any time.
