Harnett, Verna Mae 1947-2019 Verna Mae Harnett passed away on April 10, 2019 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Arrangements are pending and will be announced at a later date. Published on April 12, 2019 in The Star Phoenix, Saskatoon, SK --- Harnett, Verna 1947-2019 A broken-hearted family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Verna Mae Harnett on April 10, 2019. Verna was born on April 28, 1947 in Saskatoon, SK, to a World War II pilot and a Scottish war bride. She attended John Lake Elementary, Aden Bowman Collegiate, and the University of Saskatchewan. Verna shared her love and knowledge of art with children for 30+ years while working for Saskatoon Public Schools. After retirement, she turned her attention to her garden, her trips to Mexico, and her beloved grandchildren. Verna is survived by her loving daughters, Christin (Justin) and Liana; her pride and joy grandchildren, Cassidy, Drew, Parker and Marley; her brother, Wayne (Cheryl); nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was loved by many. Verna was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Margaret Harnett; and her dear sister, Darlene Newell.
