Arrangements in care of Martens Warman Funeral Home (306-934-4888) Published on May 9, 2019 in The Star Phoenix, Saskatoon, SK --- Babiak, Bobby It is with much sadness the family of Bobby Babiak shares news of his passing on May 7, 2019. Bobby, the youngest of ten siblings, was born on November 30, 1958 to Peter and Anna Babiak. His early years were spent in Kelliher, Saskatchewan and in 1978, Bobby joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Early in his career he developed kidney disease and was unable to continue to serve in the armed forces. Even though Bob faced many health challenges throughout his life, he was the embodiment of the phrase Laughter is the best medicine. He took every challenge in stride and with good humor. Bob was well known to always place others first. He made time to listen, visit and help with whatever he could. Generosity - to family, friends or anyone who he saw in need - was in his nature. Time spent with friends and family, especially visits with his nieces and nephews and their families, was very special to him. His visits and phone calls with stories and laughter will be greatly missed. Bobby was predeceased by his mother and father; a special Uncle John; brothers: Edward, Eugene and Walter; brothers-in-law: Bill Kolody and Mike Shul. Left to mourn his passing are his brothers Mike and Peter (Anne) and their children Jody (Jeremy), Barbara (Andrew) and Brad; his sisters Olga Kolody and her children Marcella (Arvin), Terry, Darlene (Chad) and Shelley; Margaret Shul and her children Bernice and Brian; Mary (Russ) Reynen; Anne (Ken) Haichert and their children Rielle (Joel) and Tyler (Amanda); great-nieces and nephews: Aidan, Colton, Brinna, Samantha, Dean, Bree, Victoria, Jack, Liam and Kalyna. We were blessed and will be forever grateful to have had 40 additional years with Bob because of dialysis and two kidney transplants. We are also very thankful to the two donors, the kidney transplant team and many other medical professionals who made this possible. Please sign your donor cards and make your wishes known. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of your choice are appreciated. Our many thanks to all the doctors, nurses and medical personnel, cleaning, dietary staff and many others that have cared for him throughout the years at St. Paul's Hospital, RUH and Saskatoon City Hospital. Thank you for sharing in the memories of our beloved brother, uncle and great-uncle. Private family interment. Friends are invited to join family at the Kelliher Legion Centre between 2:00 and 4:00 on May 18, 2019 to share memories. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
