About the Cofsky surname
The surname Cofsky has a primarily toponymic formation. The surname ending is common in Slavic traditions and may indicate geographical or patronymic origin. The surname may therefore originally have identified a person by place of origin, residence, or a feature of the landscape. Families bearing the same surname may nevertheless come from different places when more than one locality produced a similar name.
